No one likes to see their car's "Check Engine" light come on. The light could mean a costly problem, like a bad catalytic converter, or it could be something minor, like a loose gas cap. Today, car manufacturers include at least one computer in motor vehicles. This computer's main function is to monitor and adjust engine and transmission operations. The computer receives input information from different sensors. The computer controls spark plugs, idle speed, and fuel injectors so as to get you the best possible car performance. Failure of the car computer will greatly affect the things it controls. To get the most out of your car's computer, have it evaluated regularly for updates and proper operation. If it is already failing, have it repaired or replaced. To have your car's computer handled by experts, visit Eriksen's 131 in Boyne Falls, MI 49713 today.
Eriksen's 131 has state-of-the-art equipment to provide computer reflashing to our customers in the Boyne Falls area. The primary reason to reflash a computer (which basically means updating or reinstalling its software) is that an update has been issued by the manufacturer. It's a very simple procedure, and there may be minor updates that the car hasn't had. The manufacturer may have tweaked the transmission-shifting algorithm or some other parameters that are not crucial but may bring slight improvements to drivability, mileage or emissions. Since auto manufacturers are coming out with automobile updates every day, there may be a reprogram available for your vehicle. Stop by Eriksen's 131 or call us at 231-549-3333 to schedule an appointment!

What People Say About Us
This place is amazing! I used hate getting my car worked on, because I never knew if I could trust the person, but Ericksen's is the complete opposite. Every time I've gotten anything fixed there, it's much more reasonably priced than the competition. I have a very limited knowledge of cars, and I've been to mechanics who want to replace multiple parts on the car when I hear one little noise, either because they're taking a shot in the dark or just simply because they want to make a buck. I had gotten used to one noise costing hundreds of dollars. There have been times where Ericksen's has looked at my car when I thought something might be off and they tell me there's nothing wrong. It's like magic, because there really is nothing wrong when I leave. When there is something wrong, they fix it right the 1st time for much less than I've paid for the same parts in the same parts at other places in the past.
I needed rear brakes after my emergency brake hung up and fried the pads and rotors. I was from out of town and on vacation so I did a Google maps search and found these guys. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. I wish they had a branch in my hometown.
Always friendly, communicates very well, and most importantly does
good work. Have been there a number of times and am always
satisfied. Give big Scott a try. You will not be disappointed.
We had a tire issue and they went out of their way to fix it, nice as can be, highly recommended.
I highly recommend this repair shop if you are from out of town and on vacation. Our trucks front wheel bearing went out coming into town and the crew at Eriksen's 131 had me in and out in less then 90 minutes.
While on vacation, my car suddenly wouldn't start. I called around to five different garages, and nobody had any openings. One place said he couldn't see my car for two weeks!
When I called Eriksen's -- it was slightly farther from where I was located -- Scott said he could at least take a look at the car that day, and he recommended a towing company. The tow truck operator, Kevin, arrived within the hour, and my car was fixed and ready within 3 hours, despite Eriksen's lot loaded with other customers.
The price was fair and reasonable, and everybody involved was extremely helpful. Highly recommend Eriksen's!
Scott is amazing with his work on cars. He works on my whole family's and has for years.
